Board Bios
F. Zimmerman (Zim) Boulos The owner of OES (Office Environments and Services), a family and Jacksonville based office products supplier, since 1981. OES is a $15 million business with 40 employees. Zim is also currently the Chairman of the City of Jacksonville Economic Development Council. Over 20 years ago, he started Greenscape Jacksonville, a not for profit tree planting initiative, as well as the annual Flowering Tree Sale, a spring event that sells thousands of small trees at huge discounts to the public.
He was the force behind the renovation of San Marco Square, a neighborhood business district near downtown Jacksonville that has become a crown jewel in the rebirth of an aging neighborhood. He is a retired soccer official, having refereed in the ’94 and ’98 World Cup, as well as the ’96 Olympics. He graduated from Jacksonville University with a B.S. in marketing, is married and has one daughter.
Michael Chenard The Director of Environmental Affairs for Lowe’s Companies, based in Mooresville, N.C. Chenard was the Senior Corporate Environ-mental Engineer at Pitney Bowes, Inc., and the Environmental Programs Administrator at Champion International Corporation. He also served as a Naval Officer in the US Navy. Chenard received a BS from the University of Virginia, and a MEM in Corporate Environmental Management at Duke University. His expertise and experience is in conservation, with a general application in natural resources, energy, water, forests, and wetlands. His goal is to help corporate America to a more sustainable existence that considers the environment as an important aspect of operations.
Tom Lannin The head of Chestnut Consulting and former vice president of Bank of America at its Charlotte, N.C. corporate office. His environmental leadership roles include Chairman of the Charlotte Tree Advisory Commission, Board of Directors member for Voices & Choices, Core Stakeholder with the Clean Fuels Coalition of the Centralina Council of Governments, and two-term President of Team Bank of America—Charlotte’s Environmental Network. His efforts with the Clean Fuels Coalition resulted in the U.S. Depart-ment of Energy awarding Charlotte the Clean Cities designation in October 2004. He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Riverside.
Bruce Lisman
The former Chairman of Global Equities for JP Morgan Chase, formerly with
Bear Stearns & Co. He was Chairman of the Board of the University of Vermont and is a long-standing member of its Board of Trustees. He works with several not-for-profit and environmental organizations. He served on the board of the Riverside Park Fund, which worked with the New York City Parks Department to restore and protect Riverside Park. He is a native of New York City.
Steve Marshall
The Executive Vice President - Operations of The Davey Tree Expert Company headquartered in Kent, Ohio. Steve oversees Davey U.S. utility operations and all Davey Canadian operations. He began his career at Davey in 1977 in residential services, and was promoted to eastern then western area operations manager. Steve holds strong relationships with utility companies. Steve’s business acumen is combined with his vast knowledge of tree care and business operations.
Boyd Matson
The former anchor of National Geographic Explorer and a former co-anchor of NBC's Weekend Today program. He was also an NBC News correspondent in the 1980s, working mostly on news features. He now hosts the show Wild Chronicles on PBS and the nation-wide radio program NG Weekend. Matson also writes a monthly column for NG Traveler magazine. He lives in Virginia with his wife Betty Hudson and his two children.
Henry McKoy
The Founder and CEO of North Carolina-based Fourth-Sector Financial Corporation, the thought-leader in creating innovative products and services that facilitate the efficient movement of debt and equity capital throughout the Green and Sustainable economy – faster, cheaper, and smarter. Henry has spent more than 15 years in Corporate Finance, Banking and Business Intelligence Technology. Henry founded the non-profit think tank, OneVoice Institute of Business and Entrepreneurship (OneVIBE) in 1999, to focus on the connections between Social Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Community Development. Henry sits on, and chairs, numerous boards across North Carolina and the United States related to energy, sustainability, community development, business and education. He was appointed to a four-year term with the North Carolina Economic Development Board by Governor Beverly Perdue in 2009. He graduated with a BS/BA from the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School program in 1995; where he also studied computer science and economics.
Lynda C. Webster
The founder and chairman of The Webster Group. She is a sales and marketing professional who specializes in board development, strategic planning, fund-raising and special events. Prior to starting her own consulting firm, she was an executive in the luxury hotel business. She has been active in more than twenty community groups, including service on boards for the Salvation Army, Friends of the National Arboretum, the National Symphony Cadence organization, the Ronald Reagan Institute for Emergency Medicine, and the National Center for Leadership at the National Presbyterian Church. She holds a Masters of Business degree from Southern Methodist University and a Masters of International Management degree from the American Graduate School of International Management. She graduated with honors from Stephens College with a BA in history and foreign languages. She resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband, Judge William H. Webster, former director of both the FBI and CIA.

Caroline Gabel
Director of The Shared Earth Foundation that supports, among other organizations, the Alliance for International Reforestation (AIR), which helps indigenous people in the Guatemalan highlands plant trees to provide firewood, erosion control, shade, and nitrogen fixation. She also currently chairs the board of The Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital. Caroline served as staff on the House Committee on Public Works from 1970 to 1999. She wrote the legislation that manages poison run-off from farms, fields and urban areas. She is a licensed pilot and has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.
