Ronald G. Abraham is our Field Representative for the Great Lakes region. Ron recently retired as State Forester and Chief of the ODNR Division of Forestry,
after 13 years of service to the State of Ohio. During his time as State Forester, one new State Forest was added to the Division's facilities and 7,000
forest acres were added to the Division's land base. Prior to serving as Chief, he had 27 years service as a forester with the USDA Forest Service. Ron
received his forestry degree from Michigan State University and a master's degree in Political Science from Ohio University. A 69-acre site in Sandusky
County, Ohio was recently dedicated as the Ronald G. Abraham Forest by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Richard J. Crouse is our Field Representative for Montana. Rick was Vice President for Development for American Forests from 1988 – 2003. He is currently serving as our corporate development consultant. Rick had extensive marketing experience in the printing and homebuilding industries before joining American Forests to carry out a life-long goal of working for a conservation organization. He holds a degree in Marketing/Business Administration from Loyola College (1974).

Guy Meilleur represents American Forests in North Carolina. He is a practicing and consulting arborist, managing trees since 1965, and an instructor of
Forest Science and Tree Physiology at Duke University. He is a graduate student in Plant Pathology & Agricultural Extension Education at North Carolina
State University. Guy is studying management of decay pathogens and large landscape trees (See his book review in the August issue of the Journal of
Arboriculture.) He is also looking at ways to strengthen understanding of trees among Master Gardeners. He is Secretary and Chair of the Education and
Webpage Committees of NCUFC, and a member of the Forest History Society.

Joseph Murray has joined us as Field Representative for Virginia. He is Assistant Professor of Biology, Arboretum Director, & Arboriculture Program Director
for the Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, Virginia. Joe is actively involved in urban forestry issues across the state of Virginia in academic circles,
with tree-planting initiatives, and on the speaking tour. He is a board member of the Virginia Urban Forest Council. Joe also has a small millennium grove of 25
historic trees that relate to Virginia's history.

Zane G. Smith, Jr. has represented American Forests in the northwest since 1988. Zane's 34-year career with the USDA Forest Service included assignments as the
Willamette National Forest Supervisor in Eugene, Oregon, National Director of Recreation & Wilderness and Regional Forester for the Pacific Southwest Region in
San Francisco. He retired in 1988 and is currently an international forestry consultant and a member of the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission living in
Springfield, Oregon.

Eleanor (Ellie) Wehner is our Field Representative for Texas. She is Environmental Corrective Action Specialist and Professional Geoscientist with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Before joining the TCEQ in 1992, she held various positions with environmental consulting firms located in Pennsylvania and Texas. She serves on the Board of TreeFolks of Austin, and is an Outreach Docent with the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. She is a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science degree in Geology from Vanderbilt University.

David A. Zeitlin is our Maryland Field Representative. He is the National Director of Tree Preservation and Land Restoration Division of The Care of Trees in the DC Metropolitan area. Their group works with engineers, architects, and contractors to provide tree preservation on development and redevelopment projects of all sizes. They provide consulting and field services from planning to design and through implementation of small and large-scale preservation plans. David is a Licensed Forester and Licensed Tree Expert in Maryland, as well as an ISA Certified Arborist. He received his Bachelors Degree in Forestry from West Virginia University and a Masters Degree in Geography and Environmental Planning from Towson University.
